Probuild Appointed Principal Contractor at 1000 La Trobe

Poly Australia have awarded Probuild the main works contract for 1000 La Trobe Street, Docklands, with construction having already commenced.

Poly Australia and Probuild are excited to see 1000 La Trobe advance further into the construction phase, debuting what hopes to be a broad portfolio of work together in the future.

Poly Victoria Executive Director Steve Wang said the group is thrilled to be working alongside a reputable Australian contractor such as Probuild.

Probuild’s Victorian Managing Director Luke Stambolis said the company is looking forward to commencing work at 1000 La Trobe once preparation of the site is complete in a few months’ time.

Designed by internationally acclaimed Woods Bagot, the 40,000-square-metre development will consist of 23 levels reaching approximately 91m high and will be the first major tower in the Digital Harbour precinct. With completion expected in Q4 2021 the development consists of highly efficient floor plates averaging 2100-square-metres, allowing ample flexibility for tenants. The design hosts the opportunity for vertical floor integrations, access to health and wellness facilities, and a 700-square-metre co-working centre. It also includes a substantial ground floor retail mix consisting of cafes, retail services and other amenities.

The location of 1000 La Trobe has marked itself as one of the most connected destinations in the Melbourne CBD and Docklands precinct, positioned directly next to Southern Cross Station, the free tram zone, Capital City Trail, major freeway arterials such as City Link and the upcoming West Gate Tunnel Project estimated for completion in 2022.
